Ask About Birds Fine Art Prints in the Audubon Tradition

Editorial standards

How we research and publish.

Every factual page should let a careful reader distinguish established evidence, informed interpretation and cultural belief.

Source hierarchy

We prefer original research, government and conservation agencies, species accounts maintained by recognised bird organisations, and reference works that identify their evidence. Strong claims need strong sources. Search snippets, unsourced listicles and repeated web claims are not treated as evidence.

Cultural and symbolic traditions are described with their origin and limits where these are known. A modern greeting-card belief is not presented as ancient folklore, and a tradition belonging to a particular community is not flattened into a universal claim.

Drafting and review

Drafting, editing, image production and site operations may use software-assisted workflows. That assistance does not create expertise or remove publisher responsibility. We do not invent firsthand observations, credentials, quotations, fieldwork or named reviewers.

Before publication, pages are checked for a clear answer, internal consistency, source quality, reader safety and unsupported certainty. Medical, legal and wildlife rehabilitation questions are directed to qualified professionals or public authorities.

Updates and corrections

An updated date means the page was materially reviewed or changed. It is not added merely to make an old page appear recent. Corrections are made in the page itself. Significant changes should preserve the original URL when the subject and search intent remain the same.

To report an error, email hello@askaboutbirds.com with the page address, the passage and any supporting source. We review specific, evidence-based corrections first.

Commercial independence

Ask About Birds sells bird prints and may use clearly labelled affiliate links. A commercial relationship does not change a species fact or a recommendation about bird welfare. Product availability, pricing, shipping and fulfilment claims must match the live store configuration.

Responsibility

Ask About Birds is published by Maebh Collins. Read more about the project or use the contact page for editorial and customer questions.
