The story of the bird
The Acadian Flycatcher is a small, olive-green bird of shaded eastern forest, often heard along wooded creeks before it’s seen. A quiet, thoughtful gift for anyone who loves a walk in old-growth woods.
The print
A single editorial plate in the Audubon tradition, cream ground, the bird drawn in true proportion perched low over a woodland stream.

About the bird
Empidonax virescens nests in a shallow, hammock-like cup often slung over running water, and is best told apart from similar flycatchers by voice, a sharp “peet-sah.”
