The story of the bird
The Yellow-billed Magpie is California’s own, a striking black-and-white corvid set apart by its bright yellow bill and long, streaming tail, with the same hidden shimmer of iridescent blue-green in the wing. It lives nowhere else, restricted to the oak savannahs and valleys of central California, which makes its print a knowing gift for a Californian or a birder. As wall art it brings clean, graphic black and white to a modern room, with the one warm note of yellow that sets it apart. Rendered in a contemporary Audubon-inspired natural-history style with a soft paper-grain finish.
