The story of the bird
McKay’s Bunting breeds on just a handful of remote Bering Sea islands off Alaska, one of the rarest and most localised songbirds in North America. The body runs whiter than almost any other songbird in its range, but the wings and tail carry bold, dark markings, a crisp black-on-white contrast rather than a plain wash of colour. The plate is a graphic, wintry print for a calm room, and a knowing gift for the collector or the birder who tracks the rarest species.
Paper and finish
The print is rendered in a contemporary Audubon-inspired natural-history style with a soft paper-grain finish. Unframed prints come on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm, a heavyweight cotton rag with a soft matte surface and true archival life. The framed option is set in a classic moulding, glazed and ready to hang, in black, white or natural.
Sizes
Three sizes: 8x10, 16x20 and 24x30 inches, framed or unframed. Prints from $39, framed from $99. Also available as a high-resolution digital download.
